This outing is a week-long event. Camping choices at the Trinity Adventure Park are tent Sites or RV with Power. Meals are not provided, but you can join several nightly dinner potluck if you can contribute. There are hot showers and a fully stocked, convenient store on site for last-minute needs. You must be 18 years of age, and pets are not allowed.

Day 1

Arrival time starts in the afternoon. On this day, everybody will have time to set up their campsite, relax and chat about gold with their neighbor. On the first night, around 5:30 PM, there will be a mandatory potluck, an excellent opportunity for everyone in the group to introduce themselves and make new friends. The potluck signup list will go around a few weeks in advance so everyone can anticipate how much and what to bring. 


During the potluck, we will be forming groups. Depending on the turnout, we will form groups of 6 to 10 people for the week's activities

Day 2

Breakfast will not be provided, but you must eat before the prospecting course.

Coffee & Chat 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM 

Prospecting Crash Course 10:00 AM-Noon

This  course will be in a classroom setting where we will be going over the following:

-Geology of the area

-Rock Types and Origen

-Lode Types Location and direction of the ore body

-Causes of erosion and liberation of gold. 

-Path of gold Eluvial & Aluvial

-Identify interesting areas to sample

-interpreting and mapping sample results


Break for Lunch Noon- 1:30 PM 

 

1:30 PM- 3:30 PM - Metal detecting class 01 at camp Ground Balance


Prospecting Plan of Action 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

You and your group will use your new prospecting skills to pick out an area to sample on the claim. Your group will hike the site and fill five half buckets each from different locations on the claim. After collecting your five buckets, there will be a highbanker set up for you to process your samples. Group Dig

Day 3

Coffee & Chat 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Metal detect class. 

Everyone will kayak across the river, where you can metal-detect hydraulic pits left behind by the old timers or learn advanced metal-detecting skills from Cristian. Everyone will have an opportunity to find their own gold.

Day 4

Free for all-day

Everyone is encouraged to stake their own claim on either side of the river and continue mining that spot for several days. You can use your own equipment if you bring it. 

Day 5

Free for all-day

Day 6

Last Day Pack up and Final Potluck.
