Wet Separator

Additional Information

Wet magnetic separation can also be more environmentally friendly than other practices. The use of a liquid medium can minimize the production of dust and other harmful particles, which can have negative impacts on the environment and human health. Wet magnetic separation can also be more energy efficient, as it does not require the use of additional energy to dry the feed material. This can make it a more sustainable and cost-effective option for businesses looking to separate magnetic materials. Additionally, wet magnetic separation can be more precise and accurate in separating magnetic particles from non-magnetic particles, ensuring a high-quality and reliable separation process. Overall, wet magnetic separation is a powerful and effective tool for separating magnetic materials, and it has numerous advantages over dry magnetic separation.

There are several advantages to wet magnetic separation:

  1. It is a more efficient separation method compared to dry magnetic separation. This is because wet magnetic separation can take advantage of the liquid medium to improve the separation process by suspending the magnetic particles in the liquid slurry, allowing them to be more easily separated from the non-magnetic particles.
  2. Wet magnetic separation is less expensive than dry magnetic separation. This is because the separation process does not require additional energy input to dry the feed material, as is required in dry magnetic separation.
  3. Wet magnetic separation is less dusty and generates less pollution compared to dry magnetic separation. This is because the separation process occurs in a liquid medium, which reduces the amount of dust and other particles that are generated during the separation process.
  4. Wet magnetic separation can be more selective in separating magnetic particles from non-magnetic particles, compared to dry magnetic separation. This is because the liquid slurry can more easily flow around and between particles, allowing the magnetic particles to be more easily separated from the non-magnetic particles.
  5. Wet magnetic separation can be used to separate magnetic particles from larger particle sizes, which may not be possible using dry magnetic separation. This is because the liquid slurry can more easily flow around and between particles, allowing the magnetic particles to be more easily separated even if they are embedded within larger non-magnetic particles.

X1 Wet Magnetic Separator

This unit is designed to remove magnetite from dry, wet or damp material.

The unit can be set directly on top of a sluice or two buckets.

If set on top of two buckets, one bucket will contain nonmagnetic material, and the other will contain concentrated magnetite.

If this unit is placed on top of a sluice, the nonmagnetic material will exit the unit into the sluice riffles. The magnetic material can be diverted into a bucket.

Depending on the magnetite content this unit can process a 5-gallon bucket in about 5 minutes. If the magnetite is extremely high the 5-gallon bucket of concentrates could take 30 minutes to process.

This unit comes with a pump and can be powered with a Dewalt Battery or a 12v battery. (Aligator clips provided for battery operation)
